Amongst the long-term planetary shifts of 2018 this month Chiron will ingress into Aries after traveling through Pisces since early 2011. Currently Chiron is at 29° of the final sign of the zodiac until he enters Aries on the 17th. The final degree of any sign is called the anaretic degree which is a point of intense culmination. The lessons and themes of Chiron’s seven year dance through Pisces are heightened not only particularly in this year of 2018 due to his movement back and forth from Pisces to Aries, but also particularly this month (lunar cycle) with the last new moon being tightly conjunct the wounded centaur-planet.
The themes of Chiron in Pisces go very deep, to a collective and existential level. Chiron in Pisces is healing what can be felt as an utter pointlessness, or total loss, largely due to our disconnected and disintegrating world. Our ideals, dreams, and long-term goals which give us a sense of purpose and meaning may seem all the more trivial or pointless as we unfold into even deeper and more unfathomable levels of comprehending reality and learn to trust in a picture bigger then what we can see or measure. The sadness of the world’s, Nature’s, and animal’s suffering is all the more visceral and perceivable to sensitive souls and awakened hearts while Chiron transits Pisces. Due to this, we are also more prone to encounter our coping mechanisms of how we attempt to handle or flee from life’s suffering, such as escapist strategies or addictive tendencies. There is an added propensity for sensitive souls to go completely off the ledge into a completely delusional or disconnected reality as another way of escaping or denying reality. Regardless, a common thread is victimization, or feeling helpless to the world, at the whim of imposing forces, or a sense of lost innocence. Indeed.
Chiron in Pisces is about healing and undoing patterns of victimization or identification with being the victim by allowing the imperfection of the world, and our own sense of what is broken or lost to by recognizing it as part of the process that awakens us into becoming the medicine for the world. We are the awakening remedy forming from the chemical reaction / our allergic response to the wold. Becoming the medicine for our own and the world’s brokenness means there is no more victim; Our bumps and bruises shapes us into becoming the antidote. Chiron recognizes the hidden blessings within the bruising whether they be heavy or subtle, but not in a masochistic or self-sacrificial manner, but as an honoring of the inconceivable beauty, mystery & Wholeness of Nature. “Where we are broken is where the light enters.” When we are faced with things that seem perfectly noncongruent to our path, or our goals, oftentimes the perfect stage is laid for deep healing and enriching that takes us into an even more unfathomable depth of appreciation for life & Nature; Even in all of it’s jagged edges and thorny parts.
“Depression is the blessing of creative genius. Yearning for the ineffable is one of the greatest things a person can cultivate. The tastiest flavors don’t exist in the world but rather linger like a fragrance that just barely can’t be grasped, yet can still be relished and conveyed through the creations of the bleeding heart artist.”
Chiron’s movement over the Aries point (first degree of the zodiac) will be an initiation for our planet and for many individual souls; Awakening many souls to no longer be victims of the world, but to take a stand, fight for our hearts and do what is just and good even if we must go it in our own way or go it alone. Chiron transiting Aries for the next eight years will be a time of revolution, activism, and uprising. Chiron transiting over the Aries point this year (April 2018, September 2018 & February 2019) can also be a symbol of martyrdom, and such acts of martydom are likely to provoke such uprising and necessary activism our world needs.
Chiron’s swan-diving in and out of the wounds of the world, our perceived loss of innocence, and our awakening passion as spiritual warriors and healers of this day and age is incredibly productive in the deepest and truest sense, and not to be overlooked or underplayed; For it bestows the most incredible opportunity of awakening our hearts as human beings & recognizing the nature and capabilities of the soul. We are here to wake up to the call that suffering is not meaninglessness, that nothing is meaninglessness, that we are remembering who and what we are; We are healers, magicians, medicine women and men, and we prove this by being our own doctors, by taking the medicine that begins in the mortal and pestle of our own blood sweat and tears and ends in the awe and celebration of the beauty of the process of life itself.
Thank you Timothy – profound, poetic and prescient. I appreciate so much your unique synthesis of information and intuition.
Thanks Timothy. I will end up reading this more than once! It’s already been bookmarked. This goes a long way toward explaining how I have been feeling the last couple of months. So Chiron leaves my ascendant and moves right on into my 1st house…wheeeeeeeeee…….
I have Chiron at 29 degrees Pisces; just coming thru my first Chiron return. I was quite amazed that pain I didn’t realize I was carrying came up for healing…pain from 34 years ago, and I find it quite ironic that the painful event occurred on April 17, 1984…I truly thought I had long put that past me…have not been suffering from it…so thats why it came as such a surprise. I actually grieved deeply for days over this suppressed pain. Am feeling much better having acknowledged and processed this in the past couple of weeks. I am feeling the call to be a healer…am continually amazed by how accurate astrology is…glad I found your site.
Same Chiron, very similar experiences and response.
