Astrology is too often claimed to be heady, intellectual, and mental. It isn’t. Astrology is life. Understanding our relationship to the world around us is not simply a head trip. Imagine the loss of appreciation we would experience if we knew nothing about nature. What can be obstructed, what is there to lose by gaining clarity as to why and how things are the way that they are? Learning anything is an intellectual process. Learning to cook, farm, have sex is an intellectual process. Why astrology would be put down as purely “mental” even by curious souls has more to do with the responsibility that comes along with such clarity and understanding. The truth challenges the “romantic fantasy” of living in a world where supposedly nobody knows anything and therefore consequences to actions don’t need to be understood or looked at.
Really the truth may not all be easy to bear. The truth may not be all we want it to be. The truth is not all about our personal whims or choices.
These challenges are the guardians of the threshold of wisdom. They assure that the truth can only known by those with the pure passionate desire to know it.
