Hi. I’d like to return a “forbidden fruit” from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil… Yeah, I know, we bought it probably four thousand years ago… but I assure you the myth still works fine and is very alive in my DNA… The problem is, see, it’s been making mine and everyone’s life a living hell for quite a long period of time and I don’t think any such Knowledge of Good and Evil is actually helping much at this point… Well, because frankly everyone’s an enemy now that we are in possession of the knowledge distinguishing them as thus… And the world does resemble a considerably scary place seeing through the lens of division, racism, sexism, sectarianism, nationalism… No it truly does not seem such discernment between “Good and Evil” has gotten us in anything but more holy wars and religious crusades then anything else throughout the last several ages…
I would like to make a return in exchange for my innocence. I would like to look into the world and see only “Nature”… No distinguishing necessary. I would like to be able to live on the same equal and indiscernible plane as every other normal, small, limited human being on this planet. I would like to return my responsibility to educate the masses on what I consider right. I would like to return the fear of damnation and failure and the pressure to save other souls from damnation and failure. I would like to let go of the burden of undertaking a life that is meant to be a “big deal”. I would like my life to stop being so critical, so black and white, so life and death, so full of ultimatums, apocalypses, final judgments, final exams…
I would like to return my “forbidden fruit” now and stop being so elevated, qualified, educated to have my special “Knowledge” that is really more of a curse to live a life knowing that every decision being made is a choice between Good and Evil… I choose neither because truth be told I am both and to decide which part to deny is to choose delusion over truth and ironically the truth is not the “Knowledge of Good and Evil” it is the Love that makes such knowledge totally irrelevant in the first place.
